Apprentice & Trainee Opportunities
The Bristol Apprenticeship programme offers young people the opportunity to earn whilst they learn.
Our apprentices are employed on 24 month, fixed term contracts and paid at £95 per week for the first year, rising to £115 or the national minimum wage in the second year.
Apprentices are also entitled to claim travel expenses to and from work if they are earning below the national minimum wage.
Apprentices work alongside our employees to gain the practical skills that our business needs and also undertake a relevant qualification with one of our local training providers, typically attending college one day per week.
As employees, apprentices are given opportunities for progression and are also able to apply for permanent roles with Bristol City Council.
Apprenticeships are offered in a huge variety of areas including business administration, procurement, finance, security, recycling, marketing and communication and ICT.
Looking for a job with real prospects and training?
Trainees are recruited to an entry level grade and by following a skills pathway and undergoing structured training, including professional or vocational qualifications, grow into the fully qualified grade of the post over the period of a few years.
As well as receiving a competitive salary, you will receive generous annual leave and a dedicated mentor.
All Building Futures job opportunities will be advertised on our jobs web site http://jobs.bristol.gov.uk as they occur.
